Deeds not Words: David's Story

For David Bennett, providing for his family has always been a top priority.
A post-9/11 Marine Corps veteran, David served from 2003 to 2007, including a deployment to Iraq. Today, he lives in South Carolina with his wife and three daughters, working hard to build a stable future for his family.
Earlier this year, that stability was threatened when David’s wife unexpectedly lost her job. Determined to weather the setback, the Bennett family worked tirelessly to adjust their finances and make ends meet on a single income. They cut expenses wherever possible and did everything they could to stay afloat.
Despite their efforts, they fell behind on their mortgage.
As the financial pressure mounted, the family faced a frightening reality. Without assistance, their mortgage company planned to adjust their loan at a higher rate, creating an even greater financial burden and putting their ability to remain in their home at risk.
Seeking help, David connected with an advocate from AWP who worked diligently to identify resources that could provide support. Local and national organizations were explored, but the amount needed exceeded what most programs could provide.
Just when options seemed limited, PureTalk’s Deeds Not Words initiative stepped in.
Through the program's support, the Bennett family received the mortgage assistance they needed to remain in their home and avoid further financial hardship. The assistance provided immediate relief and allowed the family to focus on rebuilding their financial stability rather than worrying about losing the place they call home.
Today, David and his family can move forward with greater peace of mind, knowing they have a secure foundation beneath them.
“I would like to give a huge thank you to Americas Warrior Partnership and Pure Talk. Me and my family fell on some hard times and we didn’t know if we’d be able to keep our home.” - Mr. Bennett
