For many, an unexpected cost can seem overwhelming, especially when facing financial strain. Such was the case for Shelly Johnson, a veteran confronted with the rapidly approaching summer heat and a dysfunctional HVAC system. Fortunately, The America's Warrior Partnership (AWP) Network stepped in to lend a helping hand during this critical time.
Shelly, a former Air Force Airman First Class (A1C) (' 92-'96), was in a stressful situation. After spending thousands of dollars on repairs for her HVAC system, she recently learned that it needed to be replaced entirely. With a minimum replacement cost of over $6,000, she was unsure where to turn for help.

Shelly sought support from our local partner, who referred her to The AWP Network. The AWP Network Advocate diligently contacted local community action organizations on her behalf. Unfortunately, none of the contacted organizations could provide the necessary support. Despite these setbacks, we continued to search for a solution.
After scouring various resources, Shelly was referred to a national partner and was quickly accepted! This partner agreed to cover the cost of the HVAC system replacement, lifting a tremendous burden off Shelly's shoulders. Overwhelmed with relief and appreciation, Shelly expressed her heartfelt gratitude to The AWP Network for their unwavering support.
