Temporary Housing Support Provided for Indy Veteran and His Children Celebrating Easter

Life is always a work in progress. Keeping a stable living, working, and family environment is a difficult balancing act for many veterans. This was the case for Navy veteran (’05-’09) Michael Hirschfield, who turned to Indy Warrior Partnership (IWP) to work on improving his life.

Michael originally contacted IWP for help escaping a dangerous and mentally triggering housing situation. Michael has shared custody of his children and wanted a safe space for them to celebrate Easter together. After speaking with Michael, IWP Community Coordinator Abby Pequignot began searching through the IWP network for resources. Abby collaborated with a local organization, Warrior Breed MC Indiana, to provide Michael with temporary hotel housing and funds for food and transportation.

Thanks to the help of IWP, Michael could spend a cherished holiday with his children. Community Coordinator Abby Pequignot is continuing to work with Michael long-term to find him stable housing through other community partners and programs. We are proud to continue working with Michael and help provide him with adequate stability.
