Keeping a Veteran Family Housed with The TD Foundation

Post-Traumatic Stress (PTS) can make it difficult for veterans to find and maintain employment, as symptoms like anxiety, hypervigilance, and trouble concentrating often interfere with workplace demands. Living on a single paycheck in addition to retirement income, many military families learn to carefully budget and adapt in order to maintain stability and meet their everyday needs, but rising costs of living are throwing those budgets out of alignment.

Ever wondered what $10 could do? It can save the lives of veterans like the one you're reading about in this story. Donate $10 a month and help us reach veterans before a crisis occurs. Together, we can do better. Our veterans deserve better.
Paul is a post-9/11 veteran who was combat-deployed to Iraq. He lives with his wife and their two children, and he cannot work due to his PTS. Recently, they fell behind on their rent and utilities, and although they had contacted multiple local and national organizations, they were having no luck receiving assistance. Unfortunately, after a few months with no progress, they received a notice to pay or be evicted from their home, as well as a disconnection notice for their gas.
After connecting with America’s Warrior Partnership, Paul and his family were finally put in contact with someone who could help: TD Foundation. The TD Foundation supported Paul’s family by contributing towards the late payments on their home and gas, allowing them to maintain their safe housing.
