The job market is not an easy environment to navigate, and the loss of a job has a direct, immediate domino effect on one’s finances. Balancing a budget without income requires hard choices to be made.
Anne, an Army National Guard (2010-2022) veteran, came to America’s Warrior Partnership (AWP) after she had received an eviction notice and was about to go to court due to being late on her rent. Unfortunately, Anne had lost her job a few months prior and due to her loss of income she had been unable to keep up with the following rental expenses while she was seeking new employment.

Ever wondered what $10 could do? It can save the lives of veterans like the one you're reading about in this story. Donate $10 a month and help us reach veterans before a crisis occurs. Together, we can do better. Our veterans deserve better.
She requested just over $12,000 in rental assistance to get caught up on her rent and keep her family in their home. The advocates at America’s Warrior Partnership worked quickly and reached out to many programs, including the Supportive Service for Veteran Families, Community Hope. Together with another community resource, Bridges Outreach, they were able to provide the full balance.
Today, Anne is safely housed and has started a new job; she and her children will not have to worry about having a roof over their heads thanks to the partnerships between AWP and our network of partners.
