Panhandle Warrior Partnership recently met with representatives from Ukraine through Gulf Coast Diplomacy’s Open World Program. Open World is a Congressional Office for International Leadership (COIL) program, an arm of the U.S. Congress. It enables elected officials and emerging civic leaders to observe the American democratic system firsthand—Gulf Coast Diplomacy partners with COIL to bring these leaders to Northwest Florida.
PWP was joined by Serhii Koreniev, Deputy Mayor of Mykolaiv, Executive Committee of the Mykolaiv City Council; Oksana Suprun, Head of the Savynsk Village Military Administration, Savynsk Village Military Administration of the Izyum District of the Kharkiv Region; Serhii Hladkoskok, Deputy Mayor for Humanitarian Affairs, Pivdenne City Council of the Kharkiv District, Kharkiv Region; Olha Mul, Head of the Promotion Division, Department of Foreign Relations and Promotion of the Mayor’s Administration Department, Lviv City Council; Liliia Pokryshka, Project Manager, Communications Team Lead, Enlightening Initiative Kharkiv Regional Youth Non-Governmental Organization.

This session was meant to exchange ideas on how veterans, their families, and caregivers are supported through different social services and how PWP supports the veteran community in Northwest Florida. Olha Mul coordinates events for veterans and their families in Ukraine, she shared, "I am particularly interested in the American model of veteran support, which includes a wide range of programs such as psychological rehabilitation, education, employment, social initiatives, and medical care."
