Community Integration in Action: Alaskan Collaboration

In June, Alaska Warrior Partnership (AKWP) supported Battle Dawgs, a local organization, in their annual Midnight Sun Charity Golf Classic. Battle Dawgs, located in Willow, AK, is a non-profit that works to support combat warriors one step at a time. AKWP was thrilled to be able to support a fellow local organization that provides veterans support with PTS, TBI, separation anxiety and with a space to relax, reset and refocus.

A four-person, all veteran, team teed off on behalf of AKWP in the tournament. Amanda Marr, AKWP’s Program Lead, led the team in an active and engaging night of golf. It was a great opportunity for Alaskan veterans to come together and build camaraderie while supporting a good cause. The team was sponsored by the generosity of 907 Surplus, located in Anchorage, Fairbanks, and Wasilla. Because of the Golf Classic, Battle Dawgs was able to raise enough money to fully fund four warrior camp excursions.

We are grateful to our community for your ongoing support of veterans, their families and caregivers. If you’d like more information about these or other organizations, or to get connected to opportunities or veteran services, please contact AKWP at Connect@AlaskaWarriorPartnership.org.

With support from caring and passionate donors, Alaska Warrior Partnership (AKWP) continues empowering our community to empower our veterans. Please consider making a donation today to AKWP.
