Unlike urban areas with central heating, many homes across the Navajo Nation rely on wood-burning stoves for heat, and access to firewood can be limited. Thanks to those in and around our community, shared resources are a gesture of respect and gratitude that make a difference in the lives of our veterans.
Dine Naazbaa Partnership recently received a donation of firewood from Blue Ron’s Tree and Firewood Service to distribute to our local veterans and their families through the KinDahLichii Chapter Veterans Organization (KCVO). Karen, DNP’s case coordinator, built out a list of veterans and surviving spouses to refer to KCVO to each receive a cord of firewood, which included thirteen families in the area.

Ever wondered what $10 could do? It can save the lives of veterans like the one you're reading about in this story. Donate $10 a month and help us reach veterans before a crisis occurs. Together, we can do better. Our veterans deserve better.
Over the next few days, Neil Damon from Blue Ron’s Tree and Firewood Service met with Karen at the KinDahLichii office to drop off the firewood donations. While Neil drove to the office and organized the wood drop offs, Karen reached out to the veteran families to arrange their pick ups. Everyone who came out to pick up their wood was so thankful, expressing that it came in just in time to build their fires.
Thank you Neil for making a difference in the lives of our veterans through Dine Naazbaa Partnership and KCVO! Neil Damon is a US Navy veteran, his business is Blue Ron's Tree and Firewood Services is a Native American business located in Window Rock, AZ.
