Being stuck in a cycle of poverty can feel like trying to climb a ladder with missing rungs. When you're actively trying to find a job but can't afford something as basic as gas to get to an interview, every opportunity feels just out of reach. It's not a lack of effort or ambition holding you back—it's the relentless reality of limited resources making even small steps forward seem impossible.

That’s what life was like for veterans like Reggie (Army, 2019-2024) when he reached out to Indy Warrior Partnership at the recommendation of his friend. Reggie, who was trying to get a job after service, needed assistance with his car payment or it was going to get repossessed. Reggie had already found financial resources to help him get caught up with his car payment and IWP was able to help Reggie when he decided that it might be wise to relocate to be closer to his family for support by connecting him to a local resource who was able to help with housing, utilities, and other services for Reggie.

Ever wondered what $10 could do? It can save the lives of veterans. Donate $10 a month and help us reach veterans before a crisis occurs. Together, we can do better. Our veterans deserve better.

After relocating, IWP worked with a local resource to help him with gas to get to his interviews and Reggie was able to find a job close to his family. No one should have to choose between paying a bill and attending a job interview. Real change means recognizing these everyday struggles and working toward solutions that help veterans not just survive, but thrive.
