Helping a Veteran Family of 3 Rebuild After Hurricane

Updated: Nov 26

The aftermath of recent storms has impacted countless families throughout the southeast. America’s Warrior Partnership (AWP) is proud to have been able to directly support so many veteran families in moving forward, thanks to our partners.

Kirsten Cochran* is a veteran living with her husband, a fellow veteran, and their young son. Living in a flood zone, the family’s home sustained severe flood damage following Hurricane Milton, leaving them without walls and basic necessities. While waiting on insurance and FEMA assistance, the family faced devastation, with their son lacking even a place to sleep.

The AWP Network quickly stepped in, understanding the urgency of their situation. Through support from PureTalk, AWP provided $2,000 in emergency relief funds to help with clothing, kitchen supplies, and other essentials. This assistance offered the family a lifeline, ensuring they could begin rebuilding their lives. Thanks to AWP, the road to recovery is now filled with renewed hope.
