Recreational activities like camping, hunting, and fishing offer healing opportunities for veterans coping with injuries. These outdoor experiences provide a peaceful environment where veterans can disconnect from the stresses of daily life and reconnect with nature and themselves.
Jeremy is an Army veteran who received an honorable discharge due to his service connected injuries after being deployed to Iraq. Jeremy, his wife, and four kids have been living in Oregon and recently moved back to Texas because he wanted to be closer to where he grew up. Unfortunately, all of the family’s camping supplies were damaged in the move, including their tents and fishing/hunting equipment, which led Jeremy to reach out to Permian Warrior Partnership.

Ever wondered what $10 could do? It can save the lives of veterans like the one you're reading about in this story. Donate $10 a month and help us reach veterans before a crisis occurs. Together, we can do better. Our veterans deserve better.
Azzie Rogers, PWP’s case coordinator, spoke with the store manager at Dick’s Sporting Goods, Josh, and they were able to help with a tent big enough for Jeremy and his family. Thanks to PWP and our community partners like Dick’s Sporting Goods, Jeremy is happy to be able to start camping with his family again.
